Optimal web services

We’re optimal.

Not the cheapest. Not the most expensive. The point where price, speed and quality stop competing with each other. Built in days, quoted at one fixed number, and yours entirely at handover.

What we do

Two practices. One operator.

Most clients come to us for the first and stay for the second. You can start with either.

Practice one

Web services

Everything to do with the site your business depends on, from a first build to an inherited mess that needs rescuing.

  • New builds, from landing pages to full storefronts
  • Rescues and turnarounds on broken or abandoned sites
  • Ongoing maintenance, updates, backups and uptime
  • Upgrades, redesigns and migrations off costly platforms
See services and pricing
Practice two

AI automation consulting

For teams with repetitive internal work. We find the processes worth automating, prove it on one, then roll it out.

  • Process audit, with the return on investment mapped first
  • Workflow automation across the tools you already use
  • Internal tooling and assistants built around your data
  • Model integration, with running costs kept under control

Web services

Fixed quotes, agreed before any work starts. Most projects are quoted within a day and delivered inside a week.

ServiceWhat it coversTurnaroundFrom
New buildMost common A site built for your business from scratch. Design, copy layout, forms, checkout if you sell, analytics, and a domain pointed at it. 3 to 7 days $900fixed
Rescue and turnaround A site that is broken, painfully slow, failing on mobile, or left behind by whoever built it. We diagnose, fix, and hand it back working. 48 hours $400after a free check
Upgrade and migration Modernise a dated site, or move off a platform that charges you monthly for something you could own outright. Content and search rankings carried across. About a week $750fixed
Maintenance Updates, backups, uptime monitoring, small content changes, and a real person to email when something breaks. Cancel any month. Ongoing $120per month
Ecommerce setup Products, payments, shipping, tax, and the checkout flow. Configured and tested end to end so you can take orders the day it goes live. 5 to 10 days $1,400fixed

Prices are starting points for a typical scope. You get an exact figure before anything begins, and it does not move unless you change the brief.

Practice two

AI automation consulting

Built for teams carrying a lot of repetitive internal work. We start with the audit, because the point is to find what is actually worth automating, not to automate everything.

EngagementWhat it coversTimelineFrom
Automation auditStart here We map how work actually moves through your team, cost each repetitive process, and come back with a ranked shortlist of what to automate and what to leave alone. 1 to 2 weeks $2,500fixed
Pilot build One workflow automated end to end, in production, measured against the baseline from the audit. Small enough to prove quickly, real enough to count. 2 to 4 weeks $6,000fixed
Rollout Further workflows, internal tooling, integration with your existing systems, team training, and documented handover so your people can run it. 6 to 12 weeks Quotedon scope
Cost review For teams already running AI in production and watching the bill climb. We audit usage, cut waste, and right size the models to the job. 1 week $1,800fixed

Every engagement ends with you owning the work: the code, the prompts, the documentation, and the accounts it runs on.

Process

No discovery phase. No account manager.

Five steps from first call to handover. You deal with the person doing the work, start to finish.

01A short callTwenty minutes to understand the business, the goal, and what already exists. No charge and no obligation.
02A fixed quoteSent within 24 hours, with the scope written out plainly. One number, agreed before anything starts.
03BuildYou get a live link early and watch it come together, rather than waiting weeks for a reveal. Feedback welcome throughout.
04HandoverThe code, the domain, the hosting and the accounts are transferred to you. Nothing stays locked behind us.
05Support, if you want itOptional monthly maintenance, or just email us when something comes up. There is no contract to sign either way.
Why us

Optimal is a position, not a boast.

Agencies are thorough and expensive. Marketplaces are cheap and unreliable. We sit deliberately between them, and we will tell you plainly what that costs you and what it buys.

Fixed quotes

You know the number before work begins. We absorb the overrun if we misjudged it, which is a good reason for us to scope carefully.

Fast turnaround

Most builds land inside a week and rescues inside 48 hours. Modern tooling does the repetitive parts so the time goes into the decisions.

You own everything

Code, domain, hosting, analytics and payment accounts are all in your name. If you leave, you take the whole thing with you.

One point of contact

You talk to the person building it. Nothing gets lost being relayed through an account manager who was not in the room.

No forced retainers

Maintenance is there if you want it and cancellable any month. We would rather earn the next project than lock you into this one.

Sensible use of AI

We use modern tooling where it genuinely speeds things up, and human judgement everywhere else. The saving shows up in your quote.

Questions

Common questions.

How are you cheaper than an agency?+
No offices, no account layer, and no sales team to fund. We also use modern tooling for the repetitive parts of a build, so the hours that get billed are the ones that actually needed judgement. You are paying for the work rather than the overhead around it.
What do you need from me to start?+
Whatever you already have. Logos, copy, product photos, an old site, a rough sketch, or nothing but a conversation. We work from the state you are in rather than asking you to prepare a brief first.
Can you fix a site someone else built?+
Yes, that is a large part of what we do. Send us the URL and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing or cheaper to rebuild. The initial check costs nothing.
Do I have to take the maintenance plan?+
No. It exists because most clients would rather not think about updates and backups, but the site is yours either way and it will keep running without us.
What counts as a good automation candidate?+
Work that is repetitive, rule based, high volume, and currently done by a person reading and retyping things. Quoting, intake, triage, reporting, data entry between systems. The audit exists to find these rather than guess at them.
Do we have to commit to a full automation rollout?+
No. The audit stands alone and is useful on its own, and the pilot is deliberately small so you can judge the result before committing further. Many clients stop after the pilot, and that is a fine outcome.
Who owns the work at the end?+
You do, in every case. Code, documentation, prompts, domains and accounts are transferred into your name at handover. There is no licence and no dependency on us continuing.
Where are you based and how do we work together?+
We work remotely with clients across time zones, over email and scheduled calls. Most projects need one call at the start and one at handover, and everything between is asynchronous.
